Our undergraduates have achieved top positions in many local and international competitions. They scored the tenth place in the World Robotics Olympiad (WRO) Open Category, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 2012. The winning team designed and programmed an intelligent fully automated robot that plays tic-tac-toe written game against a human. In 2013, NU team scored fourth Place in the World Robotics Olympiad College Category, Jakarta, Indonesia which had participants from over 10 countries including japan, China, Taiwan, Germany, Denmark, Philippines, Mexico and Thailand. NU undergrads also scored top places in other Competitions such as ISEF, Injaz and Start Up with Google.
Ahmed Nassar, NU undergrad, is participating under the leadership of NU alumnus, Mostafa Ghaly, in developing an application that is currently being applied on the national level, for the Ministry of Planning.
Ahmed was also one of the 18 young people chosen from the MENA region to attend the 2014 Active Citizen Summit organized by the United States State Department.

NU undergrad student, Abdullah ElMenofy, won the “ISEF Best Inventor “Award in 2010, the “INEPO Best Inventor” Award for 2011 , the ISC Arab 2012 and the Sci-Preneurship Jordan 2013
NU’s Research Assistants’ program allows top graduate students from universities all over Egypt to pursue their research career at the university while receiving full exemption from fees for their masters’ studies in addition to a monthly stipend in return for their work at the Universities’ research centers.
More than 230 students have received research assistantship positions at NU and full scholarships over the past five years.

Nader Abdelkader, graduate student at the Management of Technology Program is Runner Up Winner at the “Present Around The World” (PATW ) Egypt’s Competition organized by IET and BEIE.
Ahmed Mamdouh, NU research assistant, won Best Poster Paper Award in Machine Vision Applications conference in 2013 for a research in “Vehicles detection and tracking in videos for very crowded scenes as well as the “ACM ICPC” National and Regional Contest.
Rehab Ali and Ahmed Deif won First Place in the seventh IIE Lean Student Paper Competition: “Investigating the Impact of the Dynamics Associated with Increasing Responsiveness Level on Leanness” Organized by Institute of Industrial Engineers and sponsored by J T. and Carol S. Black. The paper was presented at the Industrial and Systems Engineering Research Conference (ISERC), 2013.
NU ITS Program alumnus, Toka Mostafa, won the Silver Prize for her research work on Intelligent Transportation Systems at the 2013 Inaugural Research Networking Competition, ONE-ITS.
